Minnie Renee Carr – is a Chicago native and graduate of Lindblom Technical High School. She holds a degree in psychology from Fisk University and a M.S. in Human Services Administration from Spertus College of Judiaca in Chicago.
She has worked in the not-for-profit sector for over 28 years managing and developing programs that provided services to developmentally disabled individuals and their families, individuals diagnosed with mental illness, adults and children impacted with HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases. She plans to continue working for the elimination of economic, health and educational disparities found in underserved communities. She is currently employed by the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services, specializing in abused and/or neglected children. She is the owner of Minnie’s Mansions (property acquisition and management) and co-owner of Mo Better Jazz.
